Welcome to #Thaynestrong’s Page!In Honor of Logan Thayne
Hi!!! I am Logan Thayne, and on December 29th… I experienced an event that left my left side without feeling or reflexes. I was immediately administered the TPA stroke drug which I am so thankful for, in the ER. I began to feel my hospital gown on my left arm ever so slightly, and slight sensation in my upper thigh. Within the next week I spent some time in two different hospitals, then transferred to Sunnyview.
At Sunnyview I began to regain strength and coordination in my left arm more quickly than my leg. While in the hospital they discovered two bulging discs in my lower back and one in my middle back, which they felt could be contributing to my leg responding much slower to therapy. During this time I began to have a bit more sensation down my left, but still was unable to walk without the help of an aid. Confident that I would continue to improve, I was able to go home in a wheelchair, after a month of inpatient therapy 3 hours a day. I continued therapy at Sunnyview a few times a week, as well as home therapy with my family all other days.
It has been 6 weeks since I handed in my wheelchair and 2 weeks since I have been walking on my own. I still have a weak leg and have to wear a brace and continue therapy but am making huge strides. I cannot wait to run in the future, fingers crossed!
Sunnyview is an Acute Rehab Facility that you may know about or drive by, but inside they are changing people’s lives for the better. At Sunnyview you are never fighting alone.
Please donate if you can, please walk/run if you can. Let’s recognize this incredible place and the therapists, doctors and entire staff within…
I will never be able to thank them enough.
